Ambassador YMCA Lounge

A new facility opened at our Ambassador YMCA hostel on June 26th. Although in part it is a typical TV lounge and communal recreational area, the room will be also an extension of the Design for Life (DFL) project the YMCA operates at its main hostel a mile or so away. The scheduled programme includes computer access, quizes, creative/ arts activities, a library and drop-in advice, as well as visits and trips as part of the DFL programme. At the formal opening by the Cardiff YMCA HA's Chief Executive Andrew Jenkins, he was pleased to welcome a number of local neighbours to the project as well as representatives from the County Council with whom the YMCA has a positive and close relationship. Hostel residents who came remarked that they were very pleased to have this new service and a place to meet up with other residents.
