Job Swap 2!

Following last year's success with our Job Swap event, we decided to do it again! As with 2008 we found it to be a very positive experience for everyone involved, encouraging staff to learn something new. The initiative promotes workplace learning; shows our commitment to staff development and enables staff to apply throughout the year to learn about another job role or department.For some members of staff it meant that they had the opportunity to see another job in the YMCA first hand, allowing them to think about applying for a vacancy when it next comes up. For others it was a helpful insight to how another department works so that working practices and team work can develop. Nine people "swapped" for the day last month and the departments involved included catering, reception, domestic, support, housing and the executive office. We aim to continue the practice during the next 12 months as well as the annual special week.
