Welcome to the web site of
Cardiff YMCA Housing Association!
Often people think of the YMCA as a provider of youth work and leisure activities. However, this YMCA - Cardiff YMCA Housing Association - is a YMCA with a difference! Here in Cardiff, the capital city of Wales, we have four city centre housing projects offering flexible support services. These include a range of temporary accommodation options for vulnerable men and women of all ages and backgrounds who are in housing need. This website through its news items, annual reports, case studies and the video aims to give you a good idea what we do, why we do it and how well we do it. If you think we can help you – click on the “Contact” button. If you want to support our work, click on the “Support Us” button and see the many ways of doing so! Thank you for visiting our site – and if you have any comments, please e-mail us at enquiries@cardiffymca.co.uk.

My name is Donna Cowling ...
I am 35 years of age and have lived at the YMCA hostel in The Walk for nearly a year. Before I came to the hostel I had had my own tenancy, but had suffered a very scary burglary which left me too frightened to go back there. When I left I spent 2 nights literally on the street. I had never slept (if that’s the right word) on the street before and even though I’ve been no angel myself in the past, I was terrified of being out and on my own.
